A woman stands on a pier that leads to a lighthouse, her gaze fixed on the choppy seas and cloudy horizon. The wind ruffles her long, auburn, wavy hair and orange trench coat. A ferry passes by.

Stay with the story.
Keep everything in reach.

Picture, script and timeline belong together. Move from finding a pause to shaping the description, without losing sight of the scene.

NARRACUE — WRITE & TIMEActual interface · demonstration project

Picture, script and timing. In the same view.

Select a gap in the timeline, write your description and keep the scene in view. Every block carries its own timing and approval state.

More than a caption.
Part of the story.

A good description knows what the audience can already hear, what they already know, and what matters next.

01

Context, beyond the frame.

Optional AI drafting can draw on scene images or short video sequences, nearby dialogue and earlier descriptions. The starting point is the scene in context.

02

Your judgment stays central.

Suggestions are drafts. Edit the language, check the timing and approve each description yourself. Leave a gap open when the film needs space.

03

Work your way.

Write and record by hand, or use AI where it helps. Simplified mode keeps the focus on a fully manual workflow.

FOR THE AUDIO DESCRIBER

Put your time into the description.

Automate gap detection and repeatable production steps. Keep the creative decisions — what to describe, how to say it and when to leave room — in your hands.

FOR THE PRODUCTION TEAM

Make unfinished work visible.

Review text approval, missing recordings and timing problems in a single queue. Return directly to the cue that needs attention, then export mixed or AD-only audio and the timecoded script.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

A few practical
details.

What is Narracue?

Narracue is desktop audio description software for professional audio describers and production teams. Prepare editable timing blocks, write descriptions, record or generate narration, review cues and export audio and scripts. Explore the workflow and common questions →

Do I need to use AI?

No. Writing, recording, ducking and export work without an AI key. AI drafting, dictation and synthetic narration are optional tools.

How do the AI features work?

Connect your own API key from a supported provider. When you use an AI feature, the relevant content is sent to that provider. Provider usage is billed separately under their pricing and terms.

When will Narracue be available?

Narracue is coming soon for Windows and Mac. Neither version is available to download yet. A release date has not been announced.
